Wonderful Town Hall of Munich

Looking at this building it seems to have been built about 500 years ago, but it is not so at all. In fact it was built a bit more than 100 years ago. The construction began in 1867 and ended in 1909. The town hall is a building made in Neo-Gothic style, it has 400 rooms with total area more than 9 000 m. The height of the tower - 85m.

The architecture impresses with its diversity.

Creepy human figures on the walls.

And animal figures.

Nets are used to prevent birds from leaving droppings...

Dragon on the first floor level.

The town hall is decorated with many statues.

Some sitting statues even look humorous.

Or statues coming out of the walls.

The clock of the town hall strikes three times a day: at 11, 12, 17 and it's like a small performance. The clock is stricking and figurines start their performance, first is the upper tier moving, then the second, lower one. Tourists are standing below watching and applauding like in a real live theatre.
