10 km away from new districts of Sana there is an abandoned village
called Beit Baws. Locals like to climb high peaks and enjoy beautiful
views, sometimes in couples, sometimes in whole families.
View of the Sana suburbs
Like many other villages this one is built on the high peak for better defence from enemies.
Lower part of the soil the village was built on is green.
Stone gates
Local children like to be photographed.
Not only the Jews used to live in the village, but Arabs too. Today it is empty and most houses are demolished.
However some houses are still inhabited, like these ones, located lower, at the foot of the hill.
